It’s a myth that confidence is a feeling only fortunate people happen to have, which gives them strength to do hard things. So many people waste their talent waiting to feel confident, because they don’t understand where it comes from.

Fear is the enemy of confidence and until you face that enemy confidence will never be possible.
You ever look at someone who appears to be living your dream life and wonder how they found the confidence to work for themselves?
How did they know they’d be successful?
What confident people usually keep to themselves is that they were TERRIFIED in the begining, but they did it anyway.
They didn’t know how to do it, but they started anyway.
The chance that they’d be successful was worth putting themselves out there with the risk of being made fun of and talked about.
That’s how they built the confidence. They didn’t allow embarrassment to stop them from showing up.
Confidence is a learned behavior not something that’s inate. It is a skill and muscle that everyone has the potential of building.
Just like any other skill, the more you practice, the better you get at it.
What would your life look like right now If you faced the fears you have about posting your business ideas online?
Would you be posting online if you stopped caring about how others would judge you?
Doesn’t it suck when you see someone doing something you want to do, but WON’T because you just don’t have the same confidence to put yourself out there?
I’ve been there too! It’s how I felt when I used to be camera shy. I would only take pictures and not dare take a video.
The real confidence didn’t come until AFTER I threw myself out there.
I got tired of settling for my fears and plunged myself online by starting a YouTube channel. Once I started getting subscribers I built confidence.
It only came as a result of facing the fear.
Have you been allowing people to speak fear into your goals?
Sometimes you have a really great idea but you make the big mistake of voicing your dreams and aspirations to another person who doesn’t have any.
When people don’t see things possible for themselves will speak fear into your dreams and goals. And make you feel like you’re not good enough either.
That’s why sometimes it’s better to just keep your BIG dreams to yourself. Don’t tell others what you’re going to do.
Just do the work.
Break these 3 Barriers to success
Barrier #1 is EXCUSES. Don’t feed yourself excuses about not having the time. Everyone has the same 24 hours. It’s about what you choose to do with your time.
Successful people value time more than anything else. And refuse to waste it on things that don’t bring them closer to their goals.
When you’re consuming content is it teaching you how to get closer to your goals?
How much time do you spend on building confidence?
The way you exercise confidence to show up online is by SHOWING UP ONLINE.
You have to get to the point where all you care about is success and That’s how you know you’re ready to fight for it.
You have to start knocking down barriers to your success.
Barrier #2 Worrying about being judged. If you’re not willing to be a beginner you can’t build confidence.
Barrier #3 Waiting to feel ready. You’ll only feel ready when you make yourself ready by doing it.
If you’re wondering what you should post to social media here is a list of things not to post when you’re working on building your brand reputation for business.
- Your morning coffee (unless you’re starting a coffee business)
- Your kids (unless you have a business about family)
- Your pet
- The sunrise
- The sunset
- Your hobbies
- Funny memes (unless they’re related to your business)
- Insperational quotes
- How you feel (unless it’s related to a topic you want to cover in your business)
- Anything that says “Follow me”. Because that screams desperate.
If you want people to take you seriously then your social media must reflect what you do for business, instead of entertainment.
I LOVE posting all the things I mentioned above, but I post them to my personal page, not my business page.
Consider creating a professional Facebook page and separating the content you enjoy posting from the content people need to see you post in order to grow your business online.
A potential client shouldn’t have to dig through posts to find and understand what you do for a living.
That’s a bit unpleasant to experience when you’re looking to hire someone for help.
What does your dream client need to know about the product or service you want to sell online?
Can you share a post about the backstory of why you’re starting this partucular business?
The confidence to post will come once people start reaching out to you with questions. That’s a sign that your work is resonating with an audience. That will boost you to post more often!
The golden rule is to post 1 valuable thing a day.
Your business MUST solve a problem for people to be willing to pay.
How can you help make their lives easier?
Posting isn’t about getting “likes”. What’s more important is being known for solving a specific problem.
You want people to look for you when they run into a problem they believe you help with because of what you post online.
What is something you help people with that you enjoy so much you would do it even if you didn’t need to get paid for it?
That’s what you should build your business model from.
What can you post that will attract people to what you have to offer? Just a few questions to prompt content ideas.
Now, let’s go make that post to exercise your confidence muscles!
until next time,
